Position description
The Department of Theater and Dance at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a pool of qualified lecturers to teach during the 2024-2025 Academic Year in playwriting. Courses include: "Introduction to Playwriting" and "Advanced Playwriting".
Work will be in person on the UCSB campus. Reimbursement for travel and housing expenses will not be provided. Information about the UCSB Department of Theater and Dance is available through the Department’s web page: http://www.theaterdance.ucsb.edu/
The Department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of a Tier 1 Research University through research, teaching and service as appropriate to the position. Salary is standard, based on the UC’s salary scales and depends on qualifications.

Qualifications
MFA degree in playwriting or five years professional experience as a working playwright. At least one year of teaching experience at the college or university level.
Applicant is a published playwright and/or has had their plays professionally produced.
