Position description
The Department of Technology Management at the University of California at Santa Barbara offers courses focusing on the challenges of technology commercialization, and it is one of six academic units in the College of Engineering. The Department invites applications for a pool of qualified lecturers to help meet rapidly growing student demand for its undergraduate and graduate programs. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue on an as-needed basis. The availability of positions varies from quarter-to-quarter, depending on the needs of the Department. Percent appointments may vary, and may range from 33% to 66% time. Our popular courses are taught year-round.
Our primary demands are in the following subject areas (but not limited to):
• Basic Finance and Accounting
• Digital Marketing
• Entrepreneurship
All courses are taught in-person on campus. Therefore, applicants must be able to teach in-person, with no additional reimbursement. Lecturer appointments will range from one-quarter- to one-year-time, with the possibility of reappointment, dependent upon performance and Departmental needs. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to University of California (UC) policy and any appropriate collective bargaining agreement.
The University/College/Department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service.
The posting will remain open until March 31, 2025 to accommodate Department needs. The pool will close on March 31, 2025. When this recruitment closes, if you would like to continue to be considered after that time -- and the pooled position is advertised again -- you will need to submit a new application to the new recruitment.
Please note:
The use of a lecturer pool does not guarantee that an open position exists at the time you are applying. See the next review date specified in UCRecruit to indicate the next potential upcoming opening. If there is no future review date shown at the time of application submission, your application may possibly not be considered at this time.
